Awards Support Facility Improvements for VT’s Child Care Facilities
The Vermont Community Loan Fund has announced the 2017 Building Bright Spaces for Bright Futures Fund (BBSFBFF) grantees, with a total of $54,000 awarded to six Vermont child care programs.
The 2017 grantees are:
- Baby Steps Childcare, Proctor
- Bennington Early Childhood Center, Bennington
- Happy Days Playschool/Arlington Area Childcare, Arlington
- Kids of the Kingdom on the Hill, Danville
- Little Wings Daycare, Brookfield
- Morristown After School Program, Morristown
Funded by legislative appropriations, contributions and revenue from a special-issue license plate, BBSFBFF grants are allocated for starting, relocating, expanding, or improving a Vermont child care program’s physical facility and/or accessibility.
Grantees must be participants in the STep Ahead Recognition System (STARS), Vermont’s quality recognition system for child care, preschool, and after school programs.
“The Building Bright Spaces for Bright Futures Fund has made a huge impact, allowing for tremendous improvements to so many child care program facilities, throughout Vermont,” said VCLF Executive Director Will Belongia. “With the Loan Fund’s Child Care Loan Program among our flagship programs, awarding these funds to Vermont’s hardworking early care & education professionals is an honor,” he added.
